The app. Heftless runs entirely on your Mac. It has no server, no analytics, no crash reporting and no account. Its only network request is the update check: once a day it fetches appcast.xml from this site to see whether a newer version exists, which you can turn off in Settings. Downloads of updates come from this site too. Nothing about you or your Mac is sent.
What it reads. To measure footprints it reads file sizes and dates under your Applications folders and ~/Library. To search your files it asks Spotlight, which already indexed them. With Full Disk Access it can also see the Trash, app containers, and Desktop and Documents. It stores its own settings, a protect list and an undo ledger of Trash moves in your user defaults, on your Mac.
What it changes. Nothing, until you confirm a list in the review sheet. Then it moves those files to the Trash. Emptying the Trash is the only irreversible action and it is off by default.
